Our commitment to the environment and social issues

We take our responsibility seriously and are committed to important issues such as climate change and inclusion. Change starts with small steps. In addition to water-saving technologies in our sanitary facilities, we use green electricity and district heating to make the Passage's day-to-day operations climate-friendly. We also create the best conditions for greater e-mobility.

Ökostrom

100 % green electricity

Conventional electricity is generated from the combustion of fossil fuels and nuclear energy. But there is another way! In order to reduce our CO2 emissions and set an example for greater climate protection, the Hanseviertel has switched to a more sustainable alternative. Our entire passage – from the lifts to the ventilation and lighting – is powered entirely by certified green electricity from renewable sources. In addition, we have already replaced all our lights with LED bulbs.

Fernwärme

100 % district heating

Since we opened, we have been sourcing all the energy we need to run our heating systems and heat our water from district heating. This is particularly environmentally friendly. In this way, we are supporting the expansion of renewable energies and consciously reducing our carbon footprint.

E-Mobilität

Mobility of the future

We also want to make the journey to us as climate-friendly as possible. To this end, we are creating the necessary conditions: four electric charging stations are available to our customers in the Hanseviertel car park. In addition, our arcade is easily accessible by public transport. Hamburg's public transport hub, Jungfernstieg station, is only a two-minute walk away. Those who like to be active can come to us by bike and use one of the many covered bike parking spaces directly in front of our passage.

Breeam Zertifikat

Awarded the BREEAM certificate

The sustainability of our building has been officially certified by BREEAM. BREEAM stands for ‘Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology’ and is a leading international building certification system that measures the sustainability of properties by taking into account numerous environmental factors.
